2007 in Review
Well, 2007 was an awesome year for us!!! It started out a little "iffy" with the bedrest and hospitalizations for my pregnancy, but once Abby arrived in May, it was just spectacular from there on through the end of the year. As I write this, Grubby is home for the holidays, which I am extremely grateful for. As of now, we are awaiting new orders to see what 2008 will bring us. Abby has grown so much! At 7 & 1/2 months old, she has 2 bottom teeth, is finally growing some hair, is crawling, and saying a couple of words. She is well traveled for such a little one, but such is the life of a Navy brat! She is my joy, my heart, and my most precious little angel!!! 2008 will see her being to walk, talk more, and experience a lot of firsts! I can't wait!

Happy Fall, Ya'll!
Well, it finally feels like fall in October...well, this week anyway. I'm sure next week it will be back up in the upper 80's and low 90's. We finally got some rain this week. I love the rain.
Anywho, Grubby is up for orders and is in his "window" to negotiate them with the detailer. So far, the choices are not great. I'd really like for us to be together, and it looks like it's going to be impossible for him to get any orders stateside, unless we go to California. Hopefully we will at least be together so Abby can really know her Daddy and vice versa.
I am looking forward to going up north to SC, VA, & TN next month. We will see Michelle & my Carolina family, Grubby's folks, and my grandparents and family. We will celebrate Thanksgiving with my Grandma a week early, and then be back here in time to have Thanksgiving with Chuck, Tiffany, Taylor, & Jordan.
December will be great! Abby's first Christmas and we are keeping our fingers crossed that Grubby will be home for that! I'd also like to figure a way for us to get up to VA while he is home on leave.

My, my, my...how time flies! Abby and I spent a month in Cuba with Grubby. It was so sweet to watch them bonding. We had a lot of fun, made some really wonderful friends, enjoyed the Carribean, and then it was time to come home....all too soon. Abby is sitting up (mostly) now, eating baby food, she scoots but does not crawl yet, and she loves to stand up. She is a strong little girl! She does not like to ride in the back seat by herself, though!!! She cries...poor baby. Most of the time, though, she is a super-smiley baby and everyone says how happy she is. She is also a little flirt and has taken to winking at men!

July 2007
Well, Abby is growing like a weed! She is now 10 pounds and 9 weeks old. We have her passport and are planning a trip to see Grubby in Gitmo. (Hopefully next month!) We also hope to go see family in Tennessee (Great Grandma & Grandpa) and Virginia (Grandma & Pop and Michael) that we hope to go visit soon. Abby has changed so much in the last 2 weeks! She laughs and smiles a lot now, and is starting to play with toys. She has a favorite puppy that her Uncle Frankie in Diego Garcia sent to her. (He sings and teaches letters, numbers, body parts, and colors.) She is finally sleeping for 4 hour stretches so I am getting a little more sleep now! Abby liked the fireworks on the 4th of July. I was afraid she'd cry at the loud sounds, but she didn't seem to care. She liked the pretty colors in the sky.
Grubby is working lots of hours in Gitmo, and in his spare time is getting certified to scuba dive. He says there are shipwrecks and plane wrecks he can dive down and see.

Hello to all!
Welcome to our family blog. I will try to keep it updated with what's going on in our family. Right now Abby & I are living in Florida, and Grubby (Wayne) is living overseas. Abby is now 5 weeks old, and so very precious! We are trying to get her passport so we can go visit Grubby when she is able to travel and be in public. (The pediatrician has not yet allowed me to have her in public as she was over a month premature and her immune system has not fully developed.) But she is healthy and strong so far, gaining weight and growing as she should! She is a total blessing! We just wish her daddy could be here with us, to see her change and grow as she does every day.
